Kindle Borrowing via USB

Updated 2/20/2012

It is possible to load WILBOR  ebooks onto a Kindle device (Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle DX) when Wi-Fi is not available.  This method also works for titles that the publisher does not allow to be delivered wirelessly.

1.      Visit the WILBOR website at; log in, and browse or search for an eBook.

2.      Look for “Kindle Book” as a choice on an eBook, and click on “Add to Cart”

3.       In “My Cart,” continue browsing for more titles or, if you’re ready to check out, choose “Proceed to Check Out"

4.      In "Checkout," click on "Confirm Checkout"

5.      Once at "Download," click on "Get for Kindle."

6.      This will take you to the book for download at  Click on “Get library book.”  If you haven’t already, you’ll be asked to log into your Amazon account.

7.      Under “Deliver to,” you’ll choose “Transfer via Computer” as your delivery method.  And “Continue.”

8.      This will save your Kindle Edition to the default downloads folder of your computer.

9.      Connect your Kindle to your computer via USB.  Your computer may need to install some drivers if you haven’t done this before.  It does not take long.

10.   Click and drag the file from your download location to the documents directory on your Kindle.

11. Eject your Kindle from your computer and disconnect the USB cable.  Your book will now appear on your home screen.  If it does not show up right away, choose "Sync & Check for Items" from the menu.
